Description |
The Modernization Plan for this hotel included creating more prominent features visible from route 270, site improvements and landscaping. To achieve these objectives new registration and event canopies were constructed as well as accent pediments at each guest entrance and increasing the parapet at the commercial building to enhance the building's highway appearance. In addition the building's exterior lighting, landscaping and parking areas were upgraded to provide a friendly walk-up presence. |

This project includes the restoration of Carradoc Hall Mansion built about 1750 including rebuilding of portico, mansard and trim, reconstruction of an entrance canopy to convey appearance of a strong structure with detailing to reflect those of the mansion building. The project also included extending construction of the end walls at the rental wings to avoid monotony, add punctuation, and add visual composition while suggesting local construction methods and materials and reflecting the mansion's end walls. |

The exterior was enhanced by the addition of granite panels, fiberglass cornice and frieze and a revolving door. |
